A family of four, including two children, were tied up during a burglary at their home in the early hours of this morning.
The attack happened at around 1.20am this morning (Tuesday) at Fernridge Road in Newtownabbey.
A man, woman and two young children were approached by four masked men as their entered their property before being barricaded into a room.
The man was struck on the legs with a hammer during the family’s ordeal, however his injuries are not life threatening.
The gang got away with jewellery and the family car as well as a sum of money.
The PSNI have asked anyone with information on the burglary to come forward.
