FALLEN terror boss Colin 'Meerkat' Fulton has been given a new rank - Stool Pigeon! UVF leaders have moved to heap further humiliation on the south Belfast thug a week after we revealed he had been removed from his position as second-in-command for the terror group in the Village.

It has emerged his UVF boss Eddie Rainey has relented and is allowing his disgraced lieutenant to remain 2IC, but in name only. Well-placed loyalist sources have told us Fulton has become the laughing stock of south Belfast following a series of embarrassing revelations led to residents lodging complaints with the terror group's leadership on the Shankill Road.

The order came down that Fulton was to be removed, but now Rainey has decided to keep him on with the rank of Stool Pigeon, thanks to the Sunday World.

"Rainey has been saying that as long as Fulton is getting all the attention in the paper then they're being left alone, so they're happy for Fulton to take the s**t as long as they are left alone," said our source. "He [Fulton] has no influence, in effect he has been stood down, but has been told he is only there to take the heat to protect others."

Last week the Sunday World revealed Fulton's reign had come to an end following our revelations that he had ordered a sickening punishment attack on three teenage boys which included the use of a taser stun gun.

One victim had his privates tasered. The attack sparked furore in the Sandy Row/Donegall Road area of the city.

Meerkat looked a forlorn figure as he took part in last week's UVF 100th anniversary parade in east Belfast. Flanked by machete attacker Stuart Lindsay he barely raised a smile as he walked to Craigavon House on the outskirts of the city.

He suffered further humiliation on Saturday evening when he hosted a post-parade party on Sandy Row and only 15 men turned up! "The men were giving him stick on Saturday about not wanting to walk beside him in case they end up in the Sunday World."

However parading beside him was 27-year-old Lindsay who was handed an eight year jail sentence for a brutal, unprovoked sectarian attack in south Belfast six years ago.

Portadown man Ciaran McGurgan suffered horrific facial injuries in the savage machete attack in September 2007. He suffered horrendous injuries in the assault, which could have proved fatal, including a broken jaw and a wound which needed 100 stitches and required plastic surgery.

Lindsay, of Tavanagh Street off the Donegall Road in south Belfast, received an eight-year prison sentence after admitting a charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Ciaran was rushed to the Mater Hospital but was later transferred to the Ulster Hospital, where he underwent a four-hour operation on his facial wound, which had left "the lower half of his cheek hanging down."
