Barry Lyttle and Patrick Lyttle
Barry Lyttle has been bailed by an Australian court after an attack which left his brother, Patrick, in a critical condition in hospital.
The incident happened at the weekend in Sydney after the pair had a meal with their father.
Patrick,31, and Barry, 33, had reportedly been arguing when Barry punched Patrick, who fell to the ground, hitting his head on the surface.
Barry was arrested at the scene, with Patrick having had to undergo brain surgery.
Patrick is said to be in a stable but critical condition.
Outside Central Local Court on Monday, the boys' father, Oliver, hugged Barry.
He told reporters: "It's great that he's out.
"My youngest son Patrick, he's not great, so I hope to God everything turns out [well] for him, that we get home too.
"They've loved each other from they were kids."
The pair then left to go to St Vincent's Hospital in the city to be at Patrick's bedside.
Barry has had to surrender his passport and will appear in court again on January 20.
