Paul Toland
A man has been jailed for the manslaughter of Coleraine pensioner Bernie Acheson who died as the result of a burglary.
Paul James Manolito Toland, 41, of The Cedars in Antrim, admitted the manslaughter of Bernie,72, in April 2012.
He was jailed on Thursday for four-and-a-half years with a further four-and-a-half years on probation.
Father-of-four Toland has 18 previous convictions for burglary.
Bernie had confronted Toland, who broke into his County Londonderry home in the early hours of April 20, 2012.
He cared for his disabled wife, Sheila, who heard the altercation and alerted the police and the ambulance service.

By the time emergency services arrived however, Bernie was already dead.
Toland denied murder, pleading guilty to manslaughter.
He also admitted stealing £335 from Sheila's purse during the burglary.
