A digger operator working at St John's church in Coleraine on Tuesday afternoon has found a hand grenade and two guns.
The graveyard of the church, on the Laurel Hill Road in the town, was cordoned off while army technical officers dealt with the object.
Two handguns and ammunition were also found at the cemetery.
All of the items were reported to be very old.
No homes were evacuated during the alert.
