A Donegal priest has warned his parishioners that practicing yoga will "endanger their soul."
Fr Padraig O'Baoill who is the parish priest in Gweedore, County Donegal, warned his parishioners of the 'dangers' of yoga in the parish newsletter.
In the parish newsletter, published in Irish as Gweedore is in the Donegal Gaeltacht, Fr O'Baoill wrote: "As followers of Jesus Christ, we shouldn't be taking part in any activities that are in conflict with our faith.
"Therefore don't take any part in yoga classes, tai chi or reiki. Do not endanger your souls for the sake of such unsavoury activities."
A local yoga teacher, Noarah Graham, told local press she was both "offended" and "surprised" by the priest's remarks.
