A stolen white hatchback roars into the street in West Belfast
Harrowing videos of joyriders in West Belfast narrowly missing children in a crowded street have been posted online.
One of the videos shows a high powered hatchback car rocketing through a street at high speed before spinning out of control in cloud of smoke.
Kids playing in the street are forced to jump out of the way as the car comes hurtling along.
One man is seen with a pram, having to pull back from the side of the road as he hears the high pitched sound of the car's revving engine.
While the videos are shocking, the PSNI have said that occurrences of vehicle theft has gone down.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "This should provide reassurance the PSNI are committed to giving the people of the area the policing service they expect, however we would also highlight the need for ongoing assistance from the community by reporting any incidents of anti-social behaviour and criminal activity to their local PSNI station."
As the videos below show, joyriding in the area is common, with crowds gathering to watch cars skid up and down residential streets.
Many of those watching the joyriders, who many in the community brand 'dealers in death', try as best they can to film the idiot joyriders.
A variety of stolen cars make an appearance in the area of West Belfast.
