The Saturdays wow the crowd in Derry
Bruno Mars will be one of the big names involved on the final night of the Radio One Big Weekend in Derry this evening.
Yesterday afternoon The Saturdays brought the glamour to the musical spectacular adding an extra level of sex appeal to the star-studded roster.
Also playing tonight will be EMO metal outfits Paramore and Thirty Seconds to Mars as well as pop stars The Script, X Factor runner-up Olly Murs, Jake Bugg, Wretch 32 and X Factor winning girl group Little Mix.
The 1Xtra Arena In New Music We Trust stage, will provide a more indie feel with the likes of Vampire Weekend, Dicslosure and Bastille set to entertain the army of fans who will descend on the city this evening.
Each night has seen almost 12,000 people flock to Derry’s Ebrington Square for the music spectacular.
And tonight the event is expected to finish on a high with another star-studded line up set to rock the maiden city.
So far acts such as Calvin Harris, Rita Ora, Dizee Rascal, Biffy Clyro and Northern Ireland’s own Two Door Cinema Club have rocked the Derry crowds.
The gates of the former army barracks will open at noon today as revellers from Northern Ireland and beyond descend upon Derry.
Contingency traffic arrangements will remain in place in Derry today, with Queen’s Quay and the Foyle Embankment closed for the event.
The full line-up for tonight’s event will be: Bruno Mars, Jake Bugg, Olly Murs, The Script, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Jessie Ware, Miles Kane, HAIM, We Are The Ocean, Wretch 32, Little Mix, Everything Everything, Disclosure, Vampire Weekend, Bastille, Paramore and Jake Bugg.
