The PSNI have warned that those who use social media networking sites to organise fights will be prosecuted.
The warning comes after the police announced that they have made 21 arrests in the east Belfast area in the last month alone.
Social media networking sites are being used to arrange the pitched battles along interfaces in Belfast.
Some of those involved in disturbances are believed to have been carrying knives.
PSNI spokesperson Chief Inspector Robert Murdie said: "I would appeal to parents to make sure that you speak to your child, make them aware of the risks of being in an area where anti-social behaviour is occurring and I would ask all parents to make sure that you know where your child is and what they are doing.
"Police are working with Belfast City Council and there will be an increased presence of police and park wardens in the area.
"Police are also working with local community groups to highlight the impact that a criminal record can have on an individual. A criminal record can effect career and travel options."
It is understood that fights are being arranged in Ormeau Park between rival teams of youths in order to avoid police detection.
East Belfast community worker Scott Woods, who patrols the areas where trouble has been reported, said: "Because of the work that people are doing around here, young people are looking for the gaps.
"That is why we're now going to places like Ormeau Park, as we don't want to push the problems somewhere else. We want to address the problem."
Last weekend the Sunday World newspaper reported how teens on the north side of the city have also been involved in street fighting along interface areas.
The problem has become so big that it has caused a split between UDA factions in Tiger's Bay over controlling the loyalties of teenage recruits.
