High profile republican Seamus Daly has been charged with murdering 29 in the Omagh bomb.
The 43-year-old is from Cullaville in County Monaghan.
He was arrested in Newry on Monday.
Daly was one of the men previously found liable when the families of the victims of the atrocity took a civil case against him.
29 people were killed in the attack, including a woman who was pregnant with twins.
Daly has always denied any involvement in the bombing.
