Two men have been told to get out of a Belfast taxi for kissing each other.
The pair had been sitting in the back of the FonaCab with two other friends when the incident happened.
The taxi company has since issued an apology to the men.
Mark McLoughlin (19) was travelling with the group who were heading towards a nightclub when they were told by the driver to get out of the car on the Malone Road on Tuesday night.
Mr McLoughlin, a student from Newry studying psychology at Queen's University, said the driver took exception when his friend, Stuart McDonald, kissed him on the neck and cheek.
He said: “We rang for two taxis to take us to the Kremlin from Elms Village. The other taxi arrived at the Kremlin no problem and we got into the second.
“My friend Stuart kissed me on the cheek and then on the neck and the taxi driver must have seen us through the glass because he said, ‘Stop that, I'm not having that in my taxi'.
“He pulled over on the Malone Road and we said, ‘Are you serious? You can't do that, it's illegal'. He said, ‘Yes, get out now, I don't care'.”
Mr McLoughlin said at that point the taxi driver told them to "get the f**k out."
A statement from the taxi firm read: “FonaCab is aware of an alleged incident taking place and we are continuing to conduct an internal investigation into this matter.
"We have spoken to the customer and have apologised if any offence has been caused. However, as this investigation is ongoing, it would be unfair to comment in any more detail.
"We certainly would not condone this type of behaviour in any circumstance and would not tolerate this within our organisation.
"FonaCab is totally committed to encouraging equality and diversity and eliminating discrimination in our role as an employer and a supplier of taxi services to all those living in our community.
"Breaches of our internal policies are taken very seriously and as a sponsor and supporter of Belfast Pride, we have liaised fully with the organisation regarding this particular incident."
